Opposition alliance INDIA has called the first meeting of the Coordination Committee in New Delhi today (September 13). In which all 14 members of the committee will be included. This meeting will be held at the Delhi residence of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar. In this, issues like seat sharing and deciding the names of candidates can be discussed.

The committee members have prepared the agenda, which will be finalized in the meeting. Decisions on joint rallies, joint publicity and social media strategy are to be taken in the meeting. According to sources, to prepare the roadmap for elections and campaign, the states have been divided into 4 categories. Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Karnataka have been included in the first and most important category.

BJP has 212 seats in these 5 states, 180
The focus will be on the strength of the alliance and common strategy in the five states of the first category. There are 212 Lok Sabha seats in these five states, of which more than 180 are with the BJP. The political situation of these states has changed after 2019. In UP, SP was reduced to only 47 seats in the 2017 assembly elections. Its seats will increase to 111 in 2022.

In Bihar, JDU has distanced itself from BJP and formed the government with RJD. There is an opposition government in Jharkhand also. The government in Maharashtra is of NDA, yet the Sharad Pawar-Uddhav Thackeray duo is standing firmly with the Congress. At the same time, Congress is claiming to repeat the victory of Karnataka in the Lok Sabha elections.

Before the meeting, Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut met Sharad Pawar on Tuesday night. This meeting lasted for about 90 minutes.

The third category includes Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana where those parties are in power which are not with NDA or India. The strategy here will be different.

The fourth category includes those states where a situation of competition can arise between the parties of the opposition alliance. Like- Punjab, Delhi, West Bengal, Kerala and Goa. The focus will be on the seat sharing formula for these states.
