Delhi Police has detained TMC leaders including Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek.

Delhi Police has taken into custody TMC leaders, including Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee, who was sitting on strike at Krishi Bhawan. All these leaders were sitting on a dharna in Krishi Bhawan itself due to not meeting Union Minister of State for Rural Development Niranjan Jyoti. The police forcibly removed all of them from there. The lady police took Mahua Moitra in her lap and detained her. Besides, mobile phones of all the leaders were also confiscated.

Abhishek Banerjee was on strike for the second day on Tuesday. The police dragged him away. They allege that the Central Government is not giving funds to West Bengal. TMC leaders were demanding funds for MNREGA workers and building construction schemes during the protest.

TMC leader said- We were made to wait for hours
Amidst the uproar, TMC MP Shantanu Sen said- We were called for a meeting. We were made to wait for more than one and a half hour, then we were told that she (the minister) would not meet us. If Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti does not meet, then it is fine, we too will not go anywhere from Krishi Bhawan.
