Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh and his nine associates, lodged in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail, have started a hunger strike. His wife Kirandeep Kaur is sitting on hunger strike outside the jail. Meanwhile, Amritpal’s mother and lawyer have released a video and made serious allegations against the government and the DC of Amritsar. Both said that DC is violating human rights at the behest of the government.

Advocate Iman Singh Khara said that at the behest of the DC government, lawyers are not being allowed to meet Amritpal Singh in jail. Along with Amritpal, 9 more youths of Punjab are lodged in jail. Many cases have been registered against them. Everyone has different lawyers, but the government does not want any of their cases to be fought and they can come out of jail.

Advocate Iman Singh Khara said that Lok Sabha elections are coming next year. The government wants Amritpal and his associates to be kept in jail for 4-5 years. He is doing this to get the votes of the majority of people. He alleged that DC is dancing at the behest of the government like a puppet.

Amritpal and his companions are being harassed in different ways in the jail. Sometimes tobacco is being mixed in their food and sometimes they are being prevented from meeting lawyers and family members. The lawyer said that recently the audio of Prime Minister Bajeke had also gone viral in which he is telling his mother how she is being treated inhumanely.

Balwinder Kaur, mother of Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal, who is jailed under the National Security Act (NSA) in Dibrugarh jail, has alleged that her son and his associates are being mentally harassed. He said that his son has been in jail for 6-7 months, but no hearing has taken place yet. DC is pushing with them.

He should be brought to Punjab from Dibrugarh jail and kept here. He said that Bhai Amritpal had set out for the cause of the sect. There is an appeal to all that all the Singhs should come together, support the Sangat and try to free the people of Waris Punjab De who are lodged in Dibrugarh jail.

Gave a warning by writing a letter from jail
On September 28, Amritpal had written a letter to the Superintendent of Dibrugarh Jail against the DC of Amritsar. It was said that Amritsar DC is misusing his powers. His lawyer Rajdev Singh is not giving permission to Khalsa to meet him. Whereas all the conditions are being fulfilled by his lawyer. Their constitutional rights are being violated.

Amritsar DC said- Amritpal has already met another lawyer.
Amritsar DC Amit Talwar said that the prisoners have full permission to meet the lawyer of their choice. Amritpal has already met Advocate Navkiran Singh. Now he is asking for permission to meet Rajdev Singh Khalsa. The matter of allowing him to meet the new lawyer has been sent to the Home Secretary. Guidance and clarification have been sought from him in this regard.

Amritpal had already gone on strike
This is the second strike of Amritpal and his colleagues in Dibrugarh jail. A few months ago also he had gone on a hunger strike in jail. The allegation was that tobacco was being deliberately mixed in his food. After that all his demands were accepted.

The arrest was made after 36 days of absconding.
Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh was arrested by the Punjab Police on April 23 from the Gurudwara of Rode village in Moga district after 36 days of absconding. During these 36 days, Amritpal Singh was sometimes seen in the villages of Nepal border, sometimes Uttarakhand and sometimes Hoshiarpur.

Many people who helped him escape were also caught by the police. On April 23, Punjab Police took him to the Air Force Station in Bathinda and from there he was taken to Assam. Since then, Amritpal Singh is lodged in Dibrugarh jail along with 9 associates.
