Agartala, Sep 03: A well-known art teacher of Teliamura who recently was inducted as an art teacher at Kabi Nazrul Vidya Bhawan HS+2 School under the Vidyajyoti Scheme was arrested for sexually abusing a minor boy on Sunday.
He was arrested after the parents of the victim boy lodged an FIR with the Teliamaura police station in Khowai district.
The art teacher, Dhiman Roy (39) provides art tuition and the victim, a 10-year-old boy, used to get tuition from him. Only recently, the victim’s parents came to know about the alleged abuse, after the boy fell sick allegedly owing to physical and mental abuse by the art teacher on August 21.
According to the complaint, the art teacher used to threaten the victim boy with dire consequences and exploited the boy for a long time. The boy was brought to Agartala for treatment and his physical and mental condition is stated to be serious.
On Sunday, the father of the victim boy lodged a complaint and Police swung into action which culminated in the arrest of the accused art teacher.
