A tourist bus fell into a 100 feet deep gorge near Marapalam in Tamil Nadu on Saturday evening. 8 people died in the accident, while more than 30 people were injured. There is a possibility of the death toll increasing. Police and local people have reached the spot. All the injured have been taken to the government hospital in Coonoor.

According to the police, the dead include three women and 5 men. The bus was going from Ooty to Mettupalayam in the state’s Coimbatore district.

The bus lost control of the steering
Police said that according to initial investigation, the bus driver had lost control of the steering, due to which the bus went out of control and fell into the ditch. DIG of Coimbatore zone said that 55 people were traveling in the bus during the accident. At present the matter is being investigated.
