State scripts 40pc growth in GST

Agartala Sep 1: Tripura’s successful tryst with GST collection continues in August 2023 as the state pushed up the collection by 40 per cent compared to August 2022.

According to a PIB press release, Tripura recorded a GST collection worth Rs 78 crore in August 2023 while on a Y-o-Y basis, the GST collection in August 2022 was Rs 56 crore. The growth rate of the collection is 40 per cent which is the second-highest growth rate in the country. Lakshadweep’s GST collection was nil in August 2022, however, this year it collected GST worth Rs 3 cr marking an 853 per cent growth rate.      

Overall, the gross GST revenue collected in the month of August 2023 is Rs 1,59,069 crore in the country and the revenues for the month of August 2023 are 11% higher than the GST revenues in the same month last year.
