Train movement has started till Taradevi after 76 days on the World Heritage Kalka-Shimla Railway Track. Today the first train left from Kalka for Taradevi at 4 am, which reached Taradevi at 8.45 am. In this, about 200 passengers came to Taradevi.

The same train returned from Shimla to Kalka at 11 am. Till September 30, two trains will run daily on this track. The second train will reach Shimla at 4:40 pm and will leave for Kalka at 6:40 pm. Both the trains were started temporarily.

The track was suspended in the air at Summerhill, Shimla on 14th August, the restoration work of which is going on war footing, as soon as this point is restored, train movement will start till Shimla.

Train service started till Solan six days ago

Earlier on Wednesday, train movement started from Kalka to Solan after 70 days. It is being claimed that train movement to Shimla will also be started by October 1. However, the train has been started till Taradevi, about six kilometers away from Shimla.

It will take three-four days to restore the track till Shimla.

At the place in Shimla’s Summerhill where 20 people died due to landslide in the Shiv temple, the railway track there was badly damaged and hanging in the air. The work to repair it is going on war footing. Railway management is busy in its early restoration in view of the tourist season.

Railway track destroyed due to two rains

From Kalka to Shimla, the rains first between 7th to 11th July and then between 11th to 15th August have caused huge damage. Due to this, two and a half months have passed since the rail service on the World Heritage Track was stopped.

With the resumption of train service till Shimla, tourists from across the country will get convenience. After completing the journey till Shimla by train, tourists will be able to admire the beautiful valleys here. It should be noted that after October 15, tourists start reaching the mountains in large numbers. Before this, train service will be completely restored till Shimla.
