Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a week-long special program ‘Sankalp Saptah’ for the aspirational blocks of the country at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Saturday (September 30) at 10 am. This week will start from 3rd October and continue till 9th ​​October.

About 3,000 panchayat and block level public representatives and officials from across the country will participate in the inaugural program at Bharat Mandapam. Additionally, around two lakh people including block and panchayat level officials, farmers and individuals from other sectors will join the program virtually.

PM launched Aspirational Block Program on January 7
‘Sankalp Week’ is linked to the effective implementation of the Aspirational Block Program (ABP). This nationwide program was launched by the Prime Minister on January 7, 2023. It aims to improve governance at the block level to enhance the quality of life of citizens. It is being implemented in 500 aspirational blocks of 329 districts of the country.

Brainstorming camps were organized at village and block level across the country to implement the Aspirational Block Program and prepare effective block development strategies. This ‘Sankalp Week’ is being organized based on the results of these thinking camps.

There will be a different theme for all seven days
‘Sankalp Saptah’ will be celebrated in all the 500 aspirational blocks. Every day in the ‘Sankalp Week’ is dedicated to a specific development theme on which all the Aspirational Blocks will work. The themes of the first six days include ‘Complete Health’, ‘Well-Nourished Family’, ‘Sanitation’, ‘Agriculture’, ‘Education’ and ‘Samriddhi Diwas’. The work done during the entire week will be celebrated as ‘Sankalp Week – Inclusion Ceremony’ on the last day of the week i.e. 9th October, 2023.
