Owing to the pathetic condition of the Shillong-Dawki road, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday said that repair will start at the earliest.
Moreover, repair work is likely to start for the Jowai-Lumshnong-Ratacherra stretch of National Highway 6 next week, as decided during the meeting of Tynsong with the officials of the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways (MoRTH), National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) in Delhi.
“We will also appoint a company who will be tasked with the responsibility of looking after NH-6,” Tynsong, in charge of PWD (Roads), said.
