Shiromani Akali Dal leader was murdered in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. He was shot last night in his village Megowal Ganjiyan, 15 kilometers away from Hoshiarpur. The deceased leader has been identified as Surjit Singh Ankhi. After the incident, the police has started investigation.

Villagers told that Surjit Singh was standing at a grocery shop in Ankhi village late Thursday evening. Meanwhile, two youths came there on a bike. The youth started firing bullets at Ankhi. The bullets hit Ankhi’s stomach and chest.

After the incident, police reached the spot and started investigation. During this time villagers were also present there.
