The central government has called a special session of Parliament from 18 to 22 September. The proceedings of the first day will be held in the old Parliament. At the same time, work will start in the new Parliament on September 19.

Parliament employees will wear new dress while going to the new Parliament building. Nehru jacket and khaki colored pants are included in this dress. According to an internal circular of the Lok Sabha Secretariat, bureaucrats will wear magenta or dark pink Nehru jackets instead of closed neck suits. His shirt will also be in dark pink color with a lotus flower design.

Marshal will wear Manipuri turban, security personal will wear camouflage dress

Marshal’s uniform consists of Manipuri turban along with kurta-pajama.

This uniform has been made by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The dress of marshals in both the houses has also been changed. Now he will wear Manipuri turban.

Apart from this, the dress of the security personnel of Parliament House will also be changed. Instead of safari suits, they will be given army-like camouflage dresses.

New dress of Parliament employees…

Officers’ dress consisted of khaki pants, lotus flower printed shirt and pink Nehru jacket. Women officers have pink saree with lotus print coat.

There is a white shirt and Nehru jacket for the chamber attendant. For women there is saree and pink colored coat.

There is camouflage dress for male and female security (inner).

There is camouflage dress for male and female security (outer).

This dress belongs to the drivers of Parliament officials and MPs.

Congress said- Why only lotus on the uniform, why not tiger or peacock?
Congress targeted the new uniform of Parliament staff. Manickam Tagore, Chief Whip of Congress in the Lok Sabha, said – Why was only a lotus made on the uniform and not a peacock or a tiger? Therefore, because these are not the election symbols of BJP.

Tagore also said that drawing lotus on the uniform was childish. These people (government) did the same in G20 also. He says that lotus is the national flower. Hope BJP progresses, but does not make Parliament a one-party affair. Parliament is for every party. From this it can be understood that BJP is interfering in every institution.

Special session of Parliament will last for five days
The special session of Parliament starting on September 18 will begin in the old building and shift to the new building a day later on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The new Parliament building was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 28 May this year.

The special session of Parliament from September 18 to 22 was announced by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on August 31. At present the agenda of the special session has been kept secret.

Old Parliament building overused: Government
The existing Parliament building was built 95 years ago in 1927. In March 2020, the government had told Parliament that the old building had been overutilized and was deteriorating.

Along with this, there is not enough space in the old building to accommodate the MPs who will increase after the fresh delimitation of Lok Sabha seats. For this reason a new building has been built.

4 storey building, no effect of earthquake
The new Parliament building built on 64 thousand 500 square meters is 4 storeyed. It has 3 doors, these are named Gyan Dwar, Shakti Dwar and Karma Dwar. There is a separate entry for MPs and VIPs. The new building is 17 thousand square meters larger than the old building.

The new Parliament building will not be affected by the earthquake. Its design has been prepared by HCP Design, Planning and Management Private Limited. Its architect is Bimal Patel.

A copy of the Constitution will be kept in the Constitution Hall.
The biggest feature of the new building is the Constitution Hall. It is being said that a copy of the Constitution will be kept in this hall. Apart from this, big photographs of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose and Prime Ministers of the country have also been installed.

Last year Rajpath got the name Dutta Path
Under the Central Vista Project, the 3 kilometer long road from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate was re-developed. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 8 September 2023. On the same day, he had announced to change its name from Rajpath to Dutva Path.

The Central Vista project will also house 51 ministries and 10 central secretariats, as well as the residences of the Vice President and the Prime Minister. There will also be a secretariat for the National Security Council.

PM residence is also part of this project
Apart from the Duty Path, Parliament House, the Prime Minister’s office-house, the Central Secretariat building and the Vice President’s Enclave are also part of the Central Vista Power Corridor. These are being made by the central government agency CPWD.
