In 2017, the real estate company of which Nusrat Jahan was the director was accused of defrauding 400 people of crores of rupees in the name of flats.
TMC MP and Bengal’s famous actress Nusrat Jahan on Tuesday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in the case of fraud worth crores of rupees in the sale of flats to senior citizens. He was interrogated for 6 hours.
According to news agency PTI, real estate company Seven Senses Infrastructure Private Limited had taken Rs 5.5 lakh each from 400 people in the name of giving them flats in New Town, Kolkata. However, people neither got their flats nor got their money back.
A group of senior citizens had filed a complaint against the company in this matter. In 2017, Nusrat was the director of this company. ED is questioning the TMC MP regarding his role in the company. The entire process of interrogation will be recorded. Nusrat Jahan’s statement will also be recorded.
Nusrat Jahan is Trinamool Congress MP from Basirhat seat of Bengal.
BJP said – the one who cheats the public will not be spared
Here, BJP has said that if the allegations of corruption against Nusrat are proved true then she will not be spared. BJP State Secretary Agnimitra Paul said on Tuesday – This is Modi government. Be it a Chief Minister or an actor-actress. If you have done wrong, cheated the public, you will not be spared.
Agnimitra Paul said- Retired people gave crores of rupees to Nusrat Jahan for the flat. I placed my entire life’s earnings in his hands. But they neither got the flat nor the money was lost.
BJP leader said- Be it Chief Minister or actor-actress. Anyone who does wrong will not be spared in the Modi government.
Nusrat denied the allegations against her
TMC MP Nusrat has denied the allegations of corruption against her. Nusrat claims that she had taken a loan from a real estate company in May 2017. He had repaid the loan with interest. Since then he has had no contact with the company.
Earlier, Nusrat had expressed apprehension about the media trial against her. Targeting BJP leader Shankudeb Panda, who lodged the complaint, he had said – Anyone can go and complain against anyone, but why are you conducting a media trial? At least check whether the complaint is true or not.
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also supported Nusrat. Trinamool Congress has accused the Center of misuse of investigative agencies. Also said that TMC leaders are being targeted and harassed.
