A major accident took place in Greater Noida on Friday morning. Here the lift of an under construction building of Amrapali Group fell from a height of 80 feet. 4 people died on the spot in the accident, while 5 are injured. All the deceased are laborers who were working in the building. At the time of the accident, he was going up from the bottom while sitting in the lift. The incident took place in Bisrakh, Greater Noida between 8.30 am and 9 am.

According to the information, there were 9 laborers in the lift. As soon as the lift reached between 8th and 9th floor, it suddenly became free and fell down. The lift was to carry goods. There was no spring in it. Due to this, the lift fell down rapidly. As soon as the lift fell, other people working in the building reached the spot. The injured were taken to the hospital. Of these, 4 were declared dead by the doctor. The remaining 5 are undergoing treatment.

Police force including DM reached the spot, CM ordered investigation
As soon as information about the accident was received, DM Manish Verma and other officials reached the hospital. Inquired about the condition of the injured there. Eyewitnesses say that there were more people and goods in the lift than its capacity. That’s why the lift fell. At present, Bisarkh police station has taken the dead bodies in their custody and sent them for postmortem. The families of the workers have been informed about the accident. CM Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to investigate the accident and take action.

The accident took place in the same building where green mats are seen lying.

Construction was going on for several days
Eyewitnesses say that this building is near Murti intersection near Gaur City. Construction has been going on for a long time. Hundreds of workers gathered there after the accident. The owners carrying out the construction were also informed about the incident.

Among the dead, three were from Bihar and one from UP. They have been identified as Istaq Ali (23), Arun Tanti Mandal (40), Vipot Mandal (45) and Aris Khan (23) of UP. Meanwhile, the injured have been identified as Asul Mustaqeem, Abdul Mustaqeem, Kuldeep, Kaif, Arbaaz.

The police brought the injured to the hospital, where they are being treated.

Authority’s ACO said – action will be taken after investigation
After the accident, ACO Amandeep Dholi of Greater Noida Authority reached the spot. He said, “Construction is going on in Dream Valley Project of Greater Noida Extension. Suddenly the lift broke free and fell down. Due to this, 4 people have died. 5 people are injured, they are undergoing treatment.”

An investigation team has been formed to find out the exact cause of the accident. At present, the issue of overloading is coming to the fore. The injured will also be interrogated. Action will be taken against whoever is found responsible in the investigation. From today onwards, the safety standards will be checked in the remaining societies where work is going on. If any deficiency is found then the work will be stopped.
