A video is becoming quite viral on social media these days. In this the crowd is beating a person. It is claimed that the person beaten is a BJP MLA. There is also a claim that the video is from Madhya Pradesh.

An ex-user named Darryl had tweeted this video. Its caption reads – In Madhya Pradesh, BJP MLAs and supporters who went to seek votes in the name of religion were thrashed by the public.

It is written in the bio of Darryl’s X account that he is a staunch Congress supporter. Whereas, Darryl has 6,943 followers on X account.

Darryl’s tweet has also been shared by verified ex user Avi Dandiya. Avi wrote the caption along with the tweet – This was bound to happen but I had asked to leave the meeting, not to thrash, if you are asked for votes in the name of religion. #Prawns I am saying again that if you follow the rules then you will be in profit. When we reverse searched the screen shots of this viral video, the story turned out to be different.

On reverse image searching the screenshot of the viral video, we found a news from odishatv.

viral video and News name of the person appearing in Prashant Jagdev Turned out to be a suspended MLA of Biju Janata Dal (BJD). That is, it is clear that the crowd is not beating the BJP MLA but the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA. This video was not from Madhya Pradesh but from Odisha. That means the BJP MLA’s claim of asking for votes in the name of religion and being beaten up turned out to be completely wrong.

This incident is of March 2022. While BJD MLA Prashant Jagdev had rammed his car into a crowd during the block president elections, 26 people including 10 policemen were injured in the incident.

The blood-soaked MLA was somehow taken out of the clutches of the crowd by the policemen and taken to a nearby hospital, where considering his condition, he was immediately referred to Bhubaneswar.
