Agartala, Sep 01: At a time when the state of Tripura is preparing for the bye-elections in two assembly constituencies, the opposition CPI-M and its Left front has built a platform here at Agartala to criticise ‘American hegemony over India’, where the former Chief Minister and the CPI-M’s politburo member Manik Sarkar criticised the Modi government at the centre.
Addressing a party gathering here at Agartala on Friday, Manik Sarkar alleged that the Modi government is destroying the country’s security by expanding the US hegemony.
“The Modi government at the centre had paved the way for America to take control over India’s security system by leaving the sea ports and the Indian airspace with the American hegemony,” Sarkar alleged.
He further alleged, “Country’s security is at risk, as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a deal with America to let their technicians design Indian fighter jets. In that way the country’s security system is being handed over with those Americans, who may land our country in danger.”
Manik Sarkar however called for a united stand against the security policy of the Modi-led government at the centre.
