Management of govt assets, Chief Secy chairs high-level meeting

Agartala, Sept 01: As directed by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting on the management of government assets.

After thorough discussions, it has been decided in the meeting that a designated officer of every department would be given charge for management of government assets including office buildings, computers, furniture and vehicles.

The meeting also focused on regular cleaning of office rooms, terrace and weeds from the office premises.

As decided in the meeting, a specific amount would be allotted to every department for this purpose.

To mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2 next, cleanliness drives would be carried out in all government offices and establishments. The Chief Secretary made an appeal to private establishments for taking similar programmes.

According to a government press release, the initiative has been taken as per the instruction of the Chief Minister. The initiative aims at building Swachha Tripura under the Swachha Bharat Abhiyan.

Secretaries and other officers of various departments were present in the meeting held at the civil secretariat.
