Maharashtra Makeup Artist Murder; Live-in Partner Body Found In Palghar | The accused drowned the woman in water, stuffed the body in a suitcase; Then thrown down the hill 150 km away

Police have arrested an accused in the murder of a 28-year-old live-in partner in Palghar, Maharashtra. According to the police, the accused first killed the woman by drowning her in water. After this, the body was packed in a suitcase and thrown in a creek in Valsad, Gujarat.

The wife of the accused had also supported in this murder, the police has also arrested her.

The woman had accused him of rape, due to which he was murdered.
The accused has been identified as Manohar Shukla who works as a costume designer in Mumbai. He was in a relationship with makeup artist Naina Mahat for five years. Preliminary investigation revealed that Naina was pressurizing Manohar for marriage.

When he refused to do so, she filed a rape complaint against Manohar with the police. Shukla asked him to withdraw the case. When Naina refused, Manohar killed her.

Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested murder accused Manohar.

The incident took place between 9th and 12th August
According to the police, this incident happened between August 9 and 12. On August 12, Naina was called by her sister. When the phone was not picked up after several calls, he asked Manohar about it. Manohar told that Naina’s phone is damaged. Even the next day, when sister did not see any updates on Naina’s social media, she became suspicious.

On August 14, the victim’s sister lodged a missing complaint with Naigaon police. According to the FIR, the victim had once told her sister that she was afraid that Manohar would kill her.

Police had cremated the dead body
The victim’s body was found packed in a suitcase in a creek in Valsad in the neighboring state of Gujarat, an official said on Tuesday. Police in Valsad had filed an ADR (accidental death report) and cremated the body as no one had come to collect the body, he said.

The accused and his wife arrested in this case were presented in a local court on Tuesday. After which the court sent him to police custody till 16 September.
