Income Tax raided the premises of SP leader Azam Khan on Wednesday. This action is said to be related to Maulana Ali Johar Trust. Apart from Azam’s house in Rampur, the Income Tax Department has also raided Meerut, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur, Sitapur, Lucknow.
In Rampur itself, Income Tax raided the house of former SP MLA Naseer Khan, close to Azam. Apart from this, the team is conducting a search operation in the renowned Regency School in Sitapur. This school belongs to MF Zaidi. It is being told that Zaidi is associated with Jauhar Trust.
According to sources, all the 11 trustees of Azam Khan’s Jauhar Trust have been raided. Rampur BJP leader Akash Saxena had complained to the Income Tax Department in 2019. In this it was said that the people who donated Rs 60 crore to the Trust have never paid income tax themselves. However, no statement has been issued by the Income Tax Department regarding this entire action.

Chaudhary Munawwar Salim died 4 years ago at the age of 66. He has two sons and three daughters in his family. Choudhary Munavwar Saleem was a resident of Vidisha district of MP, he had contested elections twice from Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency and once from Sironj Assembly constituency of Vidisha.

Azam Khan had established a Minority University in the name of Maulana Ali Johar in Rampur. The university is run by Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar Trust. Azam Khan is the chairman of this trust. While his wife Dr. Tanzin Fatima is the secretary.
Azam had acquired a lot of land to build Jauhar University, about which there has been controversy since the beginning. The entire land of Azam Khan’s Jauhar University has now been taken over by the government. Eviction action has been taken from 173 acres of land.
