Himachal Congress State President Pratibha Singh has targeted the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While addressing the disaster affected people in the presence of All India Congress Committee General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi at the Potato Ground in Kullu, Pratibha Singh said that while addressing the rally of thousands of people, PM Modi had described Mandi and Himachal as his second home.

But today, in the hour of disaster, the Prime Minister has forgotten this second home of his. Himachal needs financial assistance at this time and this tragedy should be declared a national disaster. Despite repeated requests from the state government, neither a national disaster is being declared nor a special package has been given to Himachal.

Pratibha Singh said that Narendra Modi is not even speaking words of sympathy. He has accused the BJP government of cheating the people of the state. He said that when the state needs PM Modi in this hour of disaster, then why is he not among us.

Property worth Rs 8650 crore has been destroyed
This time’s rain in Himachal has destroyed government and private property worth more than Rs 8650 crore. The Chief Minister claims that after the complete assessment, the loss figure will exceed Rs 12 thousand crores. Similarly, more than 425 people have lost their lives in the mountains.

Priyanka Gandhi, Chief Minister Sukhu, Congress state in-charge Rajiv Shukla and Congress state president Pratibha Singh went on a tour of disaster affected areas of Himachal.

CM said- Center should help openly
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu said that he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the dinner at the G-20 conference and demanded from him to declare the damage caused by rain in the state as a national disaster. He said that till now there has been a loss of more than Rs 12 thousand crores. The central government should help the state openly.

The government is providing all possible assistance to the affected people.
The CM said that the state government is trying to provide all possible assistance with its resources. In this context, the government has already made arrangements to provide residential facilities to the people living in relief camps by taking rooms on rent and paying the rent for the same. Orders have been issued to all DCs regarding this.
