Haryana CM Manohar Lal reached the house of Major Ashish Dhaunchak (36), who was martyred in an encounter with terrorists on September 13 in Anantnag, Kashmir. CM reached the helipad located in Panipat Sector 13-17 by air from Palwal. Here, he reached the newly constructed residence of martyr Major Ashish located at TDI by car and shared his grief with the family members.

Manohar Lal said that after meeting the family, he came to know that Major Ashish was very brave. We will work together with the society to ensure that his name remains immortal. My condolences to the family. This is a very difficult situation. Because he was the only brother of three sisters in the family. He has a 2 year old daughter. Maximum support will be provided for the future of his wife and daughter as per government procedure.

An amount of Rs 50 lakh is given to the martyr’s family. Apart from this, his wife will be given a job as per her educational qualification. To keep his name immortal, proposals to name parks, schools, roads etc. will be considered. At the same time, when the CM was asked about the demand of giving bullet proof jackets to the soldiers, he said that now is not the time to talk about it. After this they left from there.

Major Ashish was posted in the Sikh Light Infantry of 19 Rashtriya Rifles. He was given the Sena Medal by President Draupadi Murmu on 15 August. Major Ashish has a 2 year old daughter, his wife Jyoti is a housewife. His family currently lives in a rented house in Sector 7. Major’s dream was to live in his own house, so he built a new house in TDI City.

Major Ashish was married to Jyoti, a resident of Jind, on 15 November 2015. Four months ago, on May 2, Ashish had come home after taking leave for the wedding of brother-in-law Vipul, who lives in Urban Estate. He stayed here for 10 days and after that he returned to duty. His family earlier lived in his native village Binjhaul. However, he shifted to the city two years ago.

Major Ashish was the only brother of three sisters. His three sisters Anju, Suman and Mamta are married. His mother Kamala Grihini and father Lalchand have retired from NFL. His uncle’s son Vikas is also a Major in the Indian Army. His posting is in Jhansi, but nowadays he is on training in Pune.

Lieutenant was recruited, promoted and became Major
Ashish studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya. After 12th, he did B.Tech Electronics from Barwala College. After which he was doing M.Tech. One year after this, at the age of 25, he was recruited as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army in 2012.

After this he was posted in Bathinda, Baramulla and Meerut. Promoted to become Major in 2018. Two and a half years ago he got posting from Meerut to Rajouri. After which he did not take the family along. He took a house in Sector 7 of Panipat and left them here.
