Havildar Pawan Shankar was missing under suspicious circumstances since 7.50 pm on 6th September. The next day the dead body of the soldier was recovered from the railway track.

The mystery of the death of army soldier Pawan Shankar in Ambala Cantt, Haryana has become complicated. According to the forensic expert team, the soldier has committed suicide. After recreating the scene, the team has submitted its report to the police. DSP Ashish Chaudhary has confirmed receiving the report, but said that the police is still investigating the matter thoroughly. Post mortem report is awaited.

Earlier, police investigation had revealed that Havildar Pawan Shankar had taken insurance of Rs 1 crore from Max Life Insurance Company two days before his disappearance. In such a situation, now it is difficult for the dependents of the soldier to get the claim.

There will be third party inquiry even in accident cases.
According to the company, the insurance policy will not cover suicide cases for one year. Since the policy is for Rs 1 crore, even if death occurs in an accident, the company will consider paying a claim after conducting a third party enquiry.

The soldier had taken a loan of Rs 15 lakh
Police investigation has also revealed that soldier Pawan Shankar had taken a loan of Rs 15 lakh, of which only 2 to 3 installments were paid. The loan amount has been transferred to other accounts. Now the police will also interrogate those whose accounts have received money.

To solve the mystery of the jawan’s death, a team of Padav police station, GRP, RPF and forensic experts had collected evidence by recreating the scene 4 days ago. The team recreated the scene and investigated the speed of the train, the distance of the body from the track and the surrounding area. The team of forensic experts has submitted the report to the police after investigation.
