Azad said- I am not interested in becoming the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, nor am I looking for work. I want to serve the people of Kashmir.

Azad was addressing a rally on the foundation day of his Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP). Azad said that I would request people not to trust rumor mongers who are working out of extreme enthusiasm.

I have returned to Jammu and Kashmir on the request of BJP – Azad
When I came here as Chief Minister in 2005, I left two valuable central ministries to serve the people and even today it is not that I did not have work. Some people are trying to tell that I have come to Jammu in search of rehabilitation. On the criticism on his return to Jammu, he said that he has returned to the politics of Jammu and Kashmir at the behest of BJP.

Unemployment-inflation are two big problems of Kashmir.
Azad said that unemployment and inflation are the two main problems of Jammu and Kashmir, which he wants to solve by promoting tourism. Inflation is increasing. It is true that inflation is not exclusive to India. Europe has the highest inflation, but they have other means to deal with it. We are a poor state.

Ghulam Nabi also said – As Chief Minister, my plan was to create 10 to 12 tourism spots in every district of Jammu and Kashmir and to provide loans to people to start homestays, so that they can get employment.

Abolishing 370 was a big mistake
Azad said on the abolition of Article 370 and Article 35A in 2019 that it was a big mistake. Some political mistakes were made in the last years, which pushed Kashmir backward instead of moving forward. Another big mistake was made in the last nine years – Section 370 and Section 35A were removed.

Azad said- Article 35A and Article 35B were not implemented after independence. It was brought by the Maharaja (Hari Singh) in 1925. I had also said in Parliament that if BJP had known, they would not have touched it. This mistake pushed us further back. There is uncertainty whether the land will remain with us or not.

Those dealing in drugs should be hanged
Azad asked party leaders not to make personal attacks on opponents. He said, “I have said before that we have been politically cheated, but why should I comment on someone’s appearance?”

He demanded death penalty for those running the drug mafia in Jammu and Kashmir. Azad said- This has become a big problem. Many people have become millionaires by doing drug business. He should be hanged.
