Firozpur Railway Division renamed Udhampur Railway Station as Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan.  Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan kept;  Parents had made a demand to Union Minister Jitendra Singh

Udhampur railway station of Jammu and Kashmir will now be known as ‘Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan’. Railways has ordered Firozpur Division Railway to implement this decision with immediate effect. This railway station is between Jammu and Shri Vaishno Devi Katra railway station. By changing the name of the railway station, Railways has given great respect to martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan.

This demand was made by Captain Mahajan’s parents to Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir.

Mahajan was an officer of 9 para in the army.
Udhampur (UHP) railway station in Firozpur division of Northern Railway has been renamed. Now the station has been named “Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan” (MCTM) Railway Station. Born to Dev Raj Gupta, a renowned educationist and retired principal of Udhampur, and Asha Rani, Captain Tushar Mahajan was a 9 Para officer in the Army.

Captain Tushar was martyred in February 2016
He was martyred during an encounter with terrorists in Pulmawa district of South Kashmir in February 2016. This terrorist attack took place on the building of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute. Captain Tushar attained martyrdom after killing a terrorist while protecting the army personnel. On September 6, the Home Ministry had approved changing the name of Udhampur railway station.
