India scored 10 goals against Pakistan for the first time. In squash, the Indian men’s team won gold by defeating Pakistan 2-1. At the same time, any number of Rs 2,000 notes can be deposited in the account.

Why is this news important: RBI had announced the withdrawal of Rs 2000 notes from circulation on May 19. During that time, notes worth Rs 3.56 lakh crore were in circulation. 96% of these notes have returned to the banks. Now only Rs 14 thousand crore worth notes are in the market. The Rs 2000 note was launched after demonetisation in 2016. RBI had stopped printing of Rs 2000 notes in the year 2018-19 itself.

3. Petrol pump dealers strike in Rajasthan today, petrol and diesel will not be available from 6 am to 6 pm.

Petrol pump dealers of Rajasthan will be on strike today. There will be no sale of petrol and diesel at about 7 thousand petrol pumps from 6 am to 6 pm. Dealers are demanding reduction in Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel in the state. They say that if the Rajasthan government does not fulfill their demands, they will go on indefinite strike from October 2. Earlier also on September 15, petrol pump dealers had gone on strike.

Why is this news important: According to Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association, due to the strike, the sale of 15 thousand liters of diesel and 68 thousand liters of petrol will be affected daily in the state. Due to this, the state government will suffer a loss of about Rs 44 crore every day. In Rajasthan, VAT is 19% on diesel and 31% on petrol. Here the price of one liter petrol is Rs 108.20 and the price of one liter diesel is Rs 93.47.
