17 people died in landslides caused by continuous rain in the north-western region of Congo. This accident happened in Lisal Town of North Western Mongala province. Due to the landslide, the houses built at the bottom of the hill collapsed and people were buried under the debris. So far 17 bodies have been removed. Authorities say that there is a possibility of more bodies being recovered once the debris from the houses is cleared. The province’s governor has declared three days of mourning.
