Agartala, Aug 31: The opposition CPI-M, which almost admitted their defeat in the upcoming bye-elections, is now hatching communalism to provoke minorities and create unrest in the poll-bound assembly constituencies in Sonamura subdivision, alleged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference here in the party office at Agartala, Bhattacharjee alleged, “The CPI-M leaders are found provoking the minorities through their addresses in the poll campaign in both Dhanopur and Boxanagar assembly constituency. They are trying to create communal violence and unrest in Sonamura sub-division.”
“There is a need for intervention of the election commission to stop such provocation in the run up of the bye-elections,” he said, adding that the CPI-M is seeking votes to do movement and not development.
He said, “The CPI-M leader Jiten Choudhury like leaders had failed to describe their failure of bringing development in Boxanagar and Dhanpur, in their addresses to the poll campaign. Jitendra Choudhury was found seeking votes for movement and he never mentioned any developmental works.”
“In one of his addresses, Jitendra Choudhury clearly said that if they are voted to power in Boxanagar and Dhanpur, they may not be able to work for development, but then they will work with the people to intensify their movement,” Bhattacharjee told reporters.
“The way people of this state are eagerly approaching forward to join the BJP, it clearly signifies that they have lost their trust on the CPI-M,” he said, adding that the CPI-M will be defeated in the upcoming bye-elections.
