Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed Ajay Maken as the party treasurer. This was announced by party general secretary KC Venugopal. He said that this decision will come into effect with immediate effect.

Before Ajay Maken, former Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal was the treasurer of Congress. He was appointed to this post after the death of senior party leader Ahmed Patel, who was a Rajya Sabha MP.
