Madhya Pradesh has received twice the normal rainfall in the last one week. Between September 7 and September 13, the state received a total of 94 mm rainfall, whereas normally it receives only 47 mm rainfall. At the same time, on September 16, there was almost 10 times more rainfall in Madhya Pradesh. The state usually receives 6 mm of rain on this day, while this year it received 59.5 mm of rain.
Due to heavy rains, the rivers and streams of Madhya Pradesh are in spate. Many dams of the state are full. Due to this, the gates of 10 dams had to be opened. Water was released by opening the gates of Bargi, Tawa, Omkareshwar, Indira Sagar, Yashwant Sagar, Satpura, Machagora, Parsdoh, Gambhir and Kshipra dams.
Monsoon has become active again in Rajasthan also. Due to heavy rains in different districts of Rajasthan for the last three days, 5 big dams of the state have overflowed. Water was released by opening the gates of Mahi Bajaj, Jawai, Kalisindh, Somkamala and Kota barrages. At the same time, crops have been destroyed in more than 10 districts.
It has been raining continuously for the last five days in the catchment area of Mahi Bajaj Dam of Banswara in Rajasthan.
